Touring rides on Sunday
Enjoy riding without pressure
Joy of riding without time pressure on the unique Nordschleife, are the charms of the Nordschleifen tour. E-Bikes are not permitted.
The Nürburgring will be open for pleasure-oriented, sportive riders on Sunday from 7:00 am to 13:00 pm. Access will be via Pit 22 (see map). Time window has been shortened to to Rudi Altig Race.
Participants can ride just as fast and far as they want and are able to. For how long you'll be riding on Norschleife, is (almost) up to you. It is not important, either, how many laps you ride. The last one has to be started at 11:30 am, however, according to schedule. Touring riders are on the course at the same time as racers which won't cause any problems considering Norschleife's dimensions. Touring riders won't be led through the paddock, however, they will not go on GP circuit for subsequent laps, but turn right directly at T 13 and therefore stay on Nordschleife. GP circuit may only be ridden once for getting onto the course.
In recent years the number of participants in the 24h-bike races increased. Also the tour riders became more ambitious. A family trip with trekking bikes on the Nordschleife cannot be recommended for the sake of all parties involved. Cyclists at moderate speed have to keep on the right site of the track and must not ride in pairs.
Of course you remain free to ride the race circuit without pressure and at your chosen pace. You should stay far right, however, and not in (family) groups and/or lines of four.
RTF-points will not be given at this event.
Participation certificates (without time) can (only) be printed comfortably at home (menu item: certificate). .
