In general, all cyclists of the age groups determined by the regulations are permitted to participate. The following requirements have to be met:
Participants are required to check their physical fitness themselves prior to the event. When in doubt, they should consult a doctor.
To register a minor athlete, the approval of a parent or guardian is required. The debit account for the participation fees has to be the account of the parent or guardian. Giving this information counts as an approval to the registration of the minor.
When multiple applications (eg ucoaches running group registrations) are made the approval of all guardians to the registration has to be collected by the coach or person that is registering the minor athletes.
Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to start in the 24h race.
Athletes participate in the event at their own risk! The liability of the organiser's is restricted to intent and gross negligence, also toward third parties. The organiser's are not liable for damage other than damage to life or health, as long as it has not occurred due to intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty on the part of the organiser, the legal representative or the assistants. The organiser is not liable for the loss of equipment or clothing of the participants. Therefore participants must take over the responsibility or make sure they are insured. By receiving the starting number, the participants bindingly declare that there are no physical constraints which impede them from taking part in the race. Directions of the organisational staff must be observed at all times.
Participants accept that the data provided for the registration is stored electronically and that the participant lists and the result lists may be published, e.g. online. The photographs, videos and suchlike, as well as interviews for radio, television, advertising or print purposes which have been produced in connection with the participation at the event may be used by the organiser without financial claims on behalf of the participants and without temporal or spatial restrictions.
If the event has to be cancelled due to force majeure, participants are not entitled to compensation of the participation fees or the travel or hotel costs etc.
Each participant is required to know the exact route of the race. This is particularly important for the Grand Prix course. In the areas where passages separate or be brought together again, is to take appropriate care.
If a participant rides at night for the first time (24-hour race), he must look at the routing -at least in the Grand Prix course during daylight to remember any hot spots.
Information that is added to the route in the riders meeting are obligation.
Deer passing cannot be entirely excluded on the race track.
The sports and "street"-competition regulations of the BDR (German bicycle association) provide the basis for the event regulations. By registering, participants accept these regulations.
In addition, the regulations of the German Cycling Cup apply for the 75 km and the 150 km bicycle races.
75 km and 150 km bicycle race
The following people are admitted for the 75 km and the 150 km public race:
Licensed cyclists who are rated above C-class may participate for marketing purposes. However, their results will be assessed separately. Their positions will not be included in the overall results of the public race.
Membership in a club is not mandatory.
There are no additional basic admission restrictions for these disciplines. Participants who want their results to be documented on their BDR ticket need to bring this along with them. THERE WILL NOT BE A MARATHON IN 2011!!
There are no general age restrictions. However, it is required that the participants have complete control of their bicycle at all times. This applies specifically to ascents and descents and to avoiding dangerous situations. Parents are liable for their children's actions.
There are no restrictions with respect to licences or clubs etc. The participants merely need to meet the requirements with respect to their physical fitness and their control of their bicycle. If necessary, experts may need to be consulted.
The minimum age for participants is 18. The first day of the Rad am Ring event is the reference date for the age. Participants who have just turned 18 will be included in the AK men/women group.
Whenever it is necessary to stop, participants are required to pull over to the right of the track. Defects or break-downs also need to be indicated by raising the right hand. Participants are permitted to exchange spare parts or tools. Exchanging running wheels or entire bikes is only permitted between riders of the same team. When falling or when the bike breaks down, as well as when participants have physical ailments, help by other people is expressly permitted. Only the organiser's accompanying vehicles are permitted. When participants are taken to the finish in an accompanying vehicle, they will be penalised in the 24 h race (more detailed information at the team briefing), in the public race, they will be disqualified.
Participants may not impede or jeopardise each other. Participants may under no circumstances be restrained from going at full speed or from passing.
It is forbidden to force others from the track, to pull or push others in order to gain a personal or mutual advantage. It is also forbidden to ride in the slipstream of motorised vehicles or to be pushed or pulled by them. This also applies after an accident or break-down.
The following penalties can be applied if the regulations are not adhered to:
