Equipment regulations of the MTB 24h-race

The equipment regulations of the BDR apply. Each participant is responsible for the road safety of their own bike. It is especially important to focus on the functionality of the brakes and other components which are vital for safety. Participants who do not have a bike which is considered road safe can be disqualified by the organisers at any time. There are no restrictions as to the gear ratios. The bicycle has to be able to work on all terrain.

A lighting system is mandatory in the night hours of the 24 h MTB race. From 9.00 p.m. until 6.00 a.m., the lighting system has to be in perfect working order and in use in the front as well as in the rear. Unlit bicycles can be disqualified during the night.

The following equipment or bicycle types are expressly inadmissible:

  • Bicycle bags and other additional loads
  • Drinking bottles made out of glass or other fragile material
